The Karnataka state awards presentation on Tuesday evening was held in just two and half hours at Jnanajyothi Auditorium in Central College in Bengaluru.

The Karnataka Chief Minister presenting the awards for nearly 30 persons on this occasion read out point by point the support the government has extended to the Kannada cinema industry in the last four years.

The demand of 100 films for subsidy, single window system, film city construction at Hesaraghatta, allocating Rs.84 lakhs for the welfare fund, aid to the Dr Rajakumar and Dr Vishnuvardhana memorial came up in his speech.

Karnataka chief minister declined to receive a bouquet from the Karnataka film industry because of the drought situation in the state. To respect the chief minister on this aspect the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce KV Chandrasekhar requested everyone in the auditorium to get up and clap the chief minister for this exemplary thinking. We are children and government is like mother. Children cry mother gives food.  Like that the government is to Kannada cinema industry stated KV Chandrasekhar.

We give you the highlights of the state awards presentation:

·         Karnataka Chief minister arrived to the auditorium at 6.10 pm with Dr Srinath, Home Minister R Ashok.

·         Samarthana team consisting blind singers rendered the Nada Geethe

·         Kannada Jeevaswara a documentary was displayed that was directed by Ajay Kumar for the concept of Maya Chandra. Jayanth Kaikini had penned the song Namma Vachana Bahuvachana.

·         Actress Bhavana dance on Kalabaireshwara directed by Sathyanarayana and Pravid D Rao music was well received in the auditorium.

·         Choreographer Harsha composed Dr Rajakumar songs Hosa Belaku…..Naa Ninna mareyalaare and Janarinda Mele Bandhe…..performed by actor Ajith and Roopika.

·         The television camera fitted in the center of auditorium was a disturbance to the audience sitting behind created a small commotion.

·         Home Minister R Ashok called Sa Ra Govindu on dais by signaling and said something for that chief minister was also hearing. R Ashok signaled not possible for something we don’t know. KVChandrasekhar KFCC President was sitting at the same spot.

·         Honoring the committee head that selected the awards and its members was a forgotten issue. This time it was different. Even the members of the committee were also present.

·         Chief minister released the Smarana Sanchike for 2009-2010 award winners.

·         This time a good bag was given to the award winners for carrying the awards to home.

·         First producer of Rasha Rishi was supposed to come but director Ritwik Simha came and sat at the seat of honor even created tension for CR Simha.

·         Later Rasarishi Kuvempu producer Aravind father was seated to receive the award.

·         Spectator from the audience side said release the film Rasarishi Kuvempu.

·         Puttanna Kanagal award winner CV Shivashanker handed over a letter at the time of receiving the award on stage.

·         It was hat trick of sitting on the chair for Basanthkumar Patil – in the absence of padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli he took the honor and for Hejjegalu his daughter came up on the stage. Otherwise it would have been four in a row for Basanthkumar Patil.

·         When Manu Chakravarthy was garlanded he removed it soon but Chief Minister put it back for him.

·         When Srinivas Babu came to receive the state award for editing category Minister R Ashok wanted to remove his cap but he did not oblige.

·         When Siddaraj Kalyankar received the honor for best dubbing category Minister Ashok offered him salute.

·         Ace playback singer Ekambareshwar LN alias Tippu who sang the song Hey Paaru….came from Hyderabad to receive the state award.

·         In place of Guruprasad his wife received the honor. Deepa dubbing artist came late and after the felicitation she was called to get the honors.

·         Winning awards increases the Atmavishwasa, Nemmadhi and Shanthi said Karnataka CM.

·         There is a dialogue called ‘Cut’ in cinema. If it is uttered in politics it is a permanent cut said CM.

·         In which place there is abundance of culture and heritage the place shows development. For video and audio piracy our police is doing good job. The new faces should come in the film industry.
